This site has been a long time in coming and I’m really excited to release it. Here, you’ll be able to purchase shirts, hats and patches. Plus, some other cool things that are coming soon. Sign up for the newsletter to stay up to date on whatever sort of nonsense I find my way into. The newsletter will also contain travel plans, letting you know where I’ll be so we can set up meet-n-greets or other funs stuff.

I will never share email addresses. That is a promise. I will only send you the newsletter and maybe the occasional announcement about something I think you guys will be interested in. But there’s other reasons to sign up as well. Coming very soon will a very cool addition to the site. I’m not going to talk much about it now, but you’ll want to know when it happens.

There will also be blog updates here. So, bookmark the site to check in. This will keep down on the amount of emails I send out to you. The blog will contain some of the ramblings you’re used to seeing on Facebook as well as some updates on the going’s on in the world that I feel you may want to know about.

Moving forward there will be other cool additions made to the site as well, so you’ll want to check in from time to time to see what’s new. This site will work in conjunction with my other site, AngeryAmerican.com where there is a forum and other features. This site is primarily for swag and updates.

I know I’m late bringing this up, but I think it’s worth noting. A couple weeks ago an incredible story of survival unfolded. A routine resupply and crew rotation to the ISS via a Russian Soyuz rocket was the source of one of the most spectacular stories of survival in history.

We all remember the disasters of the Challenger and Columbia Space Shuttles where the crews were lost in their attempts to help man reach just a little farther into space. For the first time in manned spaceflight where a catastrophic failure occurred, the crew of one American and one Russian astronaut was able to conduct an emergency separation from the spacecraft and land safely.

The caravan still coming. Moving slowly through Mexico where the Mexican people are offering up mountains of support for them. The original mass of people that started out of Honduras was over 7000 strong. But it’s been losing participants as it’s slowly snaked its way through Central America. Reports are that everyday hundreds give up on the attempt. Maybe it’s the sheer scale of the challenge. Maybe it’s exhaustion. Either way, it is withering away.

But the entire prospect of this event begs a number of questions. Firstly, for me anyway, is how in the hell do over 7000 people move across the land? Sure, they’re walking, but where are they getting food and water? A mass of people that size would strain any community. It’d be like a plague of locust moving across the landscape, devouring every resource before them.

South and Central America are not known for their abundance of resources. Food, fuel and potable water is a premium in a number of the countries. Therefore, it only makes sense that this caravan is receiving support from someone. I imagine it’s a benign NGO sponsored by a vague international body of some sort. This in turn begs the question, who? And more importantly, why?

The US markets, and the world’s as a result, are in what number crunchers on Wall Street call, a correction. But to me, and probably you, it looks like a free fall. The US, hell the world’s, economies are in serious trouble. There are two fissures in our global economy that, as I type this, are fracturing even further. The stock markets and the bond markets. These two are intimately connected and as goes on, goes the other.

When the stock markets retreat, lose ground, call it what you want, it drags the bond markets with it. And the bond market has the same pull on the stock markets. One of these two is going to burst into flames in the near future and all hell will break lose. It would be prudent to consider positioning yourself in the event of a major shift in the economy. It’s not all about beans and bullets folks.

Under a new Florida law, often referred to as the Red Flag law, people are being subjected to gun seizures based on nothing more than a request by law enforcement. The crux of the law is, if law enforcement suspect you are a danger to yourself or others. All this comes a result of the Parkland shooting and is part of the knee jerk reactions that usually occur after such a terrible event.

On the one hand, it was obvious the Parkland shooter should never have had a gun. He was contacted by LEO or school resources on numerous occasions. At the time, the state claims, there was no legal way to remove weapons from someone who is a clear danger. As a result, the Red Flag law was passed.

Under the current legislation law enforcement officials or family members can present a request to a judge for a temporary seizure of someone’s firearms. They must show due cause, in that the person is a danger to themselves or others, and a judge must sign it. The seizure is supposed to only be temporary but can last up to twelve months. If law enforcement makes the request, they are to make a good faith effort to inform immediate family of the such request.

Here is a list of the things that can have your firearms seized:

1. A recent act or threat of violence by the respondent against self or others, whether or not such violence or threat of violence involves a firearm.
2. An act or threat of violence by the respondent within the past 12 months, including, but not limited to, acts or threats of violence by the respondent against self or others.
3. A recurring mental health issue of the respondent.
4. A violation by the respondent of a protection order or a no contact order issued under s. 741.30, s. 784.046, or s.784.0485.
5. A previous or existing risk protection order issued against the respondent.
6. A violation of a previous or existing risk protection order issued against the respondent.
7. A conviction of the respondent for a crime that constitutes domestic violence as defined in s. 741.28.
8. The respondent’s ownership, access to, or intent to possess firearms.
9. The unlawful or reckless use, display, or brandishing of a firearm by the respondent.
10. The recurring use of, or threat to use, physical force by the respondent against another person, or the respondent stalking another person.
11. An arrest, a plea of guilty or no contest, or a conviction of the respondent for a violent misdemeanor or felony offense.
12. Corroborated evidence of the abuse of controlled substances or alcohol by the respondent.
13. Evidence of recent acquisition of firearms by the respondent.

As you can see, there are a couple of things there that are a concern. The very fist thing says an act committed within the previous twelve months is sufficient. So, in other words, someone has a year to decide if they want to screw with you. Also, it states that drug and alcohol use can lead to this and the language is so open that it can be interpreted in almost any manner.

If such an order is served on you, you can under the law, submit one written request to have it lifted. But as such things are starting to work today, you have the burden to prove you are no longer a threat, it’s not innocent until proven guilty.

With everything that’s happening today, in regard to shootings, a law such as this is an understandable response, to a degree. While we need a vehicle to deal with people that are a danger to society, placing the burden of proof on the accused, is a slippery slope and one that’s ripe for abuse.

To date, approximately four hundred and fifty people have had their firearms seized under this law. That’s a surprising number to me, considering this is designed to prevent mass shootings. And while there are those that praise this move, there are not nearly that many people committing these types of crimes. So it makes me wonder what all these people have done and just how many of them were truly justified.

It was recently revealed that Russia has dumped 85% of their T-bills. They seem to be in a sudden hurry to divest themselves of their US based investments. While this is a concern, especially if other nations follow, there’s a more sinister component to this.

It’s also been recently revealed that the Russian’s have been hacking various utilities and infrastructure here domestically. At least, we’re told it’s the Russians. But there is some proof to back this up. Several cyber security firms have captured screen shots of Russian hackers attempts to map systems of power plants, water companies and other industrial targets.

In 2015 and 2016 Russian hackers attacked power generation in Ukraine leaving more than 200,000 people without power for short periods. While these cyber strikes were not all that significant in duration or disruption, they were massive successes in proof of concept. Hackers were able to penetrate the networks and take control of devices at the system level. This is a very dangerous and worrisome development.

Cyber security firms in the US have been tracking attacks from Russian since 2011. Initial hacks were probing the company structures and were thought to be industrial espionage. But with recent attacks moving into the hardware that controls various machines in these facilities, the Russian’s are clearly sending a message that they can inflict damage should they so choose.

As the media calls everyday for more anti-Russian moves in the US, the US Navy is reactivating the US Second Fleet that was decommissioned in 2011. This is a Cold War left over that focused on keeping tabs on the Russian Navy. With a sudden spike in Russian submarine activity, the Navy feels the move is warranted.

The Russian submarine forces have had valuable opportunities recently for real-life exercises in a tactical environment, thanks to Syria. Russian subs have conducted cruise missile strikes against ISIS targets in Syria several times over the last couple of years. While the strikes weren’t substantive enough to turn the tide, they were immense opportunities for training and all were successful.

While the media howls daily that Russia is the root of all evil, we must keep some perspective. In 2015 the US hacked Iranian infrastructure to leave backdoors and other digital triggers in place to disrupt their operations in the event hostilities broke out. Then, there was Stuxnet in 2005.

Stuxnet was a very complex virus designed to target PLC, or programable logic controllers. It was designed in such a way that it would not affect any other system, waiting to find the one it was looking for. The weapon was used against the Iranian uranium enrichment facilities to destroy the centrifuges that performed the enrichment.

The facilities have very high levels of security and getting the virus in was the difficult part. The virus was deployed in the areas around the enrichment facilities where it moved from device to device, lap tops, cell phones and the like, looking for its target until it was finally carried into one of them by an unknowing individual who probably took a lap top home to get some extra work done.

The results were devastating. The virus took control of the speed controllers of the centrifuges and sped them up until they destroyed themselves. Technicians at the sites were unable to stop the process once it started and thousands of centrifuges were destroyed. The attack set the Iranian enrichment project back several months.

We, the United States of America, are doing and have conducted the same types of operations that we’re accusing the Russian’s of. Whether it be cyber-attacks, election meddling, naval attacks via cruise missiles, we’ve done it all. This is not to condone the activities of the Russian’s, simply to say, we’re doing the exact same thing.

The US government takes the moral high ground that everything they do is right and proper. Any other nation that conducts the very same activities is seen as an aggressor. It’s all about perspective. From our point of view, we are right, and our activities are noble. The problem with that line of thinking is, the Russian’s think the very same thing.
